19 Sept 2005 - Demonstration @ Parliament

The residents conducted a peaceful demonstration at the Parliament on the 19 Sept 2005. Arriving in the morning, close to about 100 residents of Sri Petaling lifted their spirits and colorful banners to voice their displeasure for the construction of the highway so close to their homes.

  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
Finally, The Works Minister himself!

All these time we have failed to meet with Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu. At about 11.25am, on this way out of the Parliament, he stopped his car and greeted the residents. He also made an official statement to the project. More insights into his statement to come...

We managed to achieve the following at the parliament picketing

1. Distributed about 400 flyers to all passer-by going in and out of the Parliament

2. Met up with Dato Shahrir, Chairman of Public Accounts Committee to present our case

4. Finally we managed to meet Datuk Seri S Samy Vellu on his way out of the Parliament
